The
Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS) welcomes Duston Price to its board of
directors.
Born in
Tupelo and raised in Columbus, Duston is a Mississippi native with a passion
for animals. He attended New Hope High
School, graduated from The Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science,
and studied English at The University of Mississippi. For the past 16 years, Duston has worked in
the restaurant industry across the country, and currently works as the Beverage
Director for the Eat With Us Restaurant Group and the General Manager of
Harveys Starkville.
Duston
lives in New Hope with his husband Erik, a local Realtor. They have seven “children”: a Weimaraner (Gracie), two Great Danes
(Dottie and Gus Gus), two mischievous cats (Jackson and Peter), a Dachshund
(Tater), and a blue and gold Macaw (Coco), along with “too many” chickens and
fish to count or name.
OCHS board
president Rick Welch said, “Duston has been a fantastic supporter of the
Oktibbeha County Humane Society over the years, especially through Celebrity
Wait Night at Harveys which has raised over $50,000 for OCHS since its
inception in 2015. He is a valued member
of the Starkville community and is a great addition to our leadership team.”
The OCHS
board of directors consists of fourteen community members who have volunteered
to oversee operations of the nonprofit organization: Amy Aarhus, Michele Anderson, Marty Haug, Jan
Jackson, Dana Lewis, Karen Lilly, Ardra Morgan, Duston Price, Donna Reese,
Heather Rowe, David VanLandingham, Diane Wall, Rick Welch, and Sherrie Wiygul.
