Duston Price joins OCHS board of directors
The Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS) welcomes Duston Price to its board of directors.
Born in Tupelo and raised in Columbus, Duston is a Mississippi native with a passion for animals. He attended New Hope High School, graduated from The Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science, and studied English at The University of Mississippi. For the past 16 years, Duston has worked in the restaurant industry across the country, and currently works as the Beverage Director for the Eat With Us Restaurant Group and the General Manager of Harveys Starkville.
Duston lives in New Hope with his husband Erik, a local Realtor. They have seven “children”: a Weimaraner (Gracie), two Great Danes (Dottie and Gus Gus), two mischievous cats (Jackson and Peter), a Dachshund (Tater), and a blue and gold Macaw (Coco), along with “too many” chickens and fish to count or name.
OCHS board president Rick Welch said, “Duston has been a fantastic supporter of the Oktibbeha County Humane Society over the years, especially through Celebrity Wait Night at Harveys which has raised over $50,000 for OCHS since its inception in 2015. He is a valued member of the Starkville community and is a great addition to our leadership team.”
The OCHS board of directors consists of fourteen community members who have volunteered to oversee operations of the nonprofit organization: Amy Aarhus, Michele Anderson, Marty Haug, Jan Jackson, Dana Lewis, Karen Lilly, Ardra Morgan, Duston Price, Donna Reese, Heather Rowe, David VanLandingham, Diane Wall, Rick Welch, and Sherrie Wiygul.
